Ruben's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to prepare new parcels of farmland for cultivation.

Ruben's story

Ruben is a 23-year-old married man with a two-year-old child. He and his family live their own home in the municipality of La Asunta, which is part of the city of La Paz in Nor Yungas Province, Bolivia.

Ruben is a hardworking man who has five years of experience working in agriculture. He specifically cultivates coca leaves, one of the most important sources of income in the area where he resides. For centuries, coca has been grown in the municipality of Coroico and the city of La Paz, Bolivia. The leaves contain protein, vitamins, and minerals. Not only is it an excellent source of nutrition, but it has been known to cure various illnesses. Coca leaves are widely consumed by chewing them or infusing them to make tea. Ruben works every day from 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. His crops are sold at local fairs within the municipality of La Asunta and he has established customers who buy in bulk.

Ruben is requesting a new loan so that he can prepare new parcels of farmland. As a result, he hopes to increase his crop so that he can improve his sales and meet the growing demand. This will lead to an improvement in his income, which will allow him to provide his family, especially his young child, a better way of life.
