Lamona's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy some more groceries for her retail store and to help with their plantation.

Lamona's story

Meet Lamona. She is 41 years old and married to a farmer, and they have six children to raise.

Lamona and her husband own and operate a retail store and a plantation, where they grow kava (Tongan beer) and ship it to the mainland, Tongatapu, for selling.

Lamona takes good care of the retail store, while her husband takes care of their plantation. The retail store runs from Monday to Saturday every week, from 6:30 in the morning until 12:00 midnight.

It is located in their front yard. From there, they sell out different stock and goods.

Last year, they decided to add another business to the list. Therefore, they started their kava plantation. It is their own piece of land.

Her husband grows kava with the idea of selling it for money. Lamona is applying for a loan in order to buy more groceries for their store and to help their plantation with the ploughing and hiring men for work.

Her vision for the future is for her children to finish their education and to have a better life.
