Maribeth's story

Maribeth is 38 years old, is married and has three dependents. She and her family live in a simple dwelling in Concepcion, Iloilo and earn a living through fishing. They have been sustained each day through this livelihood for many years. Aside from this, Maribeth also sells fried chicken for additional income.

She is now requesting for a loan through Kiva’s field partner CEVI (a microfinance NGO) in the Philippines to buy plastic screen, bamboo and nylon (string) to make a fish trap. The remaining part of this loan will be used to buy chicken and cooking oil. In the future, Maribeth dreams for her children to finish their studies.
