A loan helped to buy feed and vitamins for her pigs.

Merlita's story

Merlita is a 59-year-old resident of Cabiao, Nueva Ecija. She is happily married to Charito and they were blessed with five children, two of whom are still pursuing their studies. For almost 10 years, Merlita has raised pigs to sell. She delivers those pigs to a butcher shop.

Merlita has been a good paying client of Alalay sa Kaunlaran (ASKI) Inc. for about nine years and used her previous loans to raise healthy pigs to sell. She is requesting a 50,000 PHP loan under the agricultural loan program of ASKI to buy chaff as feed and vitamins for her pigs.

Merlita's dream is for her children to finish their studies so that they are able to achieve a better living. She hopes to have a better life with the help of ASKI and Kiva lenders.
