Brendah's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more clothes to sell.

Brendah's story

Brendah is 20 years old and lives in the town of Bulenga in the Kiyinda region of Uganda. She is married and has four children who are all currently in school. For the past two years, Brendah has been working hard to manage her clothing sales.

To help expand her business, Brendah has requested a loan of 1,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more clothes for sell, and will help Brendah to generate greater profits. Brendah will be able realise more profits from expanded business, and she will be able to cater to her family and children, hence improving on their standards of living. Brendah hopes that in the future she will be able to open up a food stall.

Brendah is a member of BRAC's Empowerment and Livelihood for Adolescents (ELA) program. In addition to microfinance loans, the program provides both a safe place for young Ugandan women to take part in group activities and a forum for life-skills training.
