Joanne's story

Meet Joanne. She is a 23-year-old single mother to one child. She lives with her parents.

Joanne runs a canteen business. She makes light food and sells it at the primary school every school day. In her canteen, she sell samosas, rotis, hot dogs, burgers, sandwiches and soft drinks.

She has to wake up at half past four in the morning every day to prepare her canteen. Sometimes, as she explained, she feels so tired and wants to take a good nap and skip the canteen, but she knows that her son needs her to support him, and not only that, she has to take care of her parents.

Joanne makes good money from her business. However, she still wants funds to make more food and buy new equipment. Therefore, Joanne decided to join SPBD's loan program for financial support. She is hoping to use her loan money to buy groceries for her canteen and a new stove oven.
