Everlyn's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy farming inputs, such as hybrid seeds and fertilizer, to improve her farm's output.

Everlyn's story

Meet Everlyn, a loving mother of two who was brought up in one of the poorest homes in her village. Today she lives and farms in Kerugoya, a region endowed with seasonal streams and green vegetation. Everlyn had sustained contact with her parents, thus allowing her to grasp farming skills from them. These skills shaped her and equipped her to be the very knowledgeable farmer that she is. On her farm, she grows vegetables and keeps dairy cows. She sells milk and maize, and when she is not farming, Everlyn has a side business.

Everlyn has requested a loan from Juhudi Kilimo, after realizing that they are in partnership with Kiva and that they are willing to help her realize her dreams. She will use the loan to purchase farming inputs such as high-nutrient fertilizers and certified seeds to improve her farm yield and make more profits from sales to support her family. For a woman like Everlyn, accessing funds in Kenya, especially around the area where she lives, is very challenging. Everlyn feels relieved knowing there are institutions that help enterprising women like her.
