Manusiu's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy pandanus for her weaving business and pay for household renovations.

Manusiu's story

Manusiu is a 61-year-old widow with six adult children. She lives together with her daughter at her daughter's house. Manusiu is running a weaving business where she and her daughter are joined by three other women to work weaving every day. Together, they make taovala, mats and fihu. Manusiu and her daughter decorate their finished products, then sell them at the local marketplace or from their home. They may also send them to relatives overseas to be sold.

Manusiu is a very hardworking mother who wants to be a good role model to women in society. She does not want age to weaken a woman nor keep her from her responsibilities to her family and community. She believes that while it may yet to be realized, every woman has a God-given talent in herself.

Manusiu is applying for a loan to buy pandanus—fibrous leaves from the Pandan plant—for her weaving and pay for renovations to their house, for it is very old.
