06_Artillerie 2 Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for young cows and some fodder for them.

06_Artillerie 2 Group's story

This group is composed of four women sharing strong ties of solidarity and mutual assistance. The women live in the same neighborhood and have jumped at the chance to join the 'banc villageois' when it was set up in town in March 2008. Their main work involves small-scale commerce.

Ms. Fatimata (standing at the far left in the photo with a blue headscarf) is the group's representative. She is 53, married, and the mother of five children (including three sons). She raises livestock and enjoys experience in this business for having done it for about ten years.

With this new loan, she envisions buying calves and some fodder for fattening them over a few months before selling them. With the earnings, she plans to bolster her savings and to help her husband to meet family needs.
