Joseline's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy farm inputs, such as quality seeds and fertilizer, to improve her production and increase her profits for a better future.

Joseline's story

Joseline is a 35-year-old mom of four school-going children. She resides in Bungoma, a town surrounded by prime agricultural lands which favor large-scale grain farming, dairy and horticultural farming. Having grown up on a farm, Joseline is no stranger to hard work, and she is ready to roll up her sleeves with the hard work and determination needed to make her farming journey a fruitful one! Thanks to her daily efforts, Joseline has managed to give her family a good start.

Joseline has a farm where she grows crops and raises livestock. She also earns some income from a personal business. She never had a formal college education and is content with the farming lifestyle. The Bungoma area is a favorable one for farming, so Joseline is seeking a KES 50,000 loan through Kiva's field partner Juhudi Kilimo to buy farm inputs such as fertilizer to enable her to grow more corn crops, reap maximum profits, and increase her business.

Being a woman and accessing funds in Kenya, especially around her village, is very challenging, but Joseline feels relieved knowing there are institutions such as Kiva that help enterprising women like herself. She is full of hopes and expectations for prosperity now that she is a member of Kiva.
