Irene's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy farm inputs such as seeds and fertilizer to produce a good harvest and support her children.

Irene's story

Irene is a loving, humble mother who is motivated to get up and work hard for two goals: to improve her housing condition and to be able to offer a good education to her cute children.

Irene is a rural smallholder farmer from the Kericho area of Kenya. Her main income source is milk from her dairy farm. However, she is also involved in other agricultural activities, such as growing bananas, vegetables, fruits, and grains.

The biggest problem that farmers from Kericho face is difficulty accessing agricultural inputs, meaning that farmers' yields and incomes are far below what they could be. Juhudi Kilimo partnered with Kiva to provide financial services to smallholders around Kenya. Through these financial services, farmers from Kericho, like Irene, can now buy productive assets and important agricultural inputs for use on their farms.

Currently, Irene is seeking a loan to buy farm inputs, such as seeds and fertilizer. Your loan will enable her to improve her production through the use of quality farm inputs. This intervention will help her fill the increasing demand for food in the market, and in the process, generate more income to repay the loan and improve the quality of life for her family.

Irene also hopes to improve the condition of her house. Help this mother to accomplish all her dreams with this loan!
