01_Fatoumata Group's story

This group is made up of seven women who are part of the banc villageois that was established in July 2006. These women, who are from the same village, share solid values of kinship and helping one another. Their main business activity is trade.

Fatoumata Bouko, 56 years old, is the representative. She is standing at the left in the photo with her hand raised. She is married and mother of six children, one of whom is a girl. Her children are between 30 and 17 years old, and they are all educated.

Fatoumata Bouko has a general food shop, and she does poultry farming at the same time. She obtains her chicks from suppliers in town and raises them at home where she has a hen house. She has more than five years of experience in this sector.

With her loan, she intends to purchase 100 chicks, bags of feed (start, growth, and finish), and pay for vaccines. She resells her chickens in the capital after 45 days or more.

With her profits, she will pay for her children's schooling, help her husband with household expenses, and save within the banc villageois.
