Benson's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy farm inputs, such as fertilizer and good-quality seeds, to improve the productivity of his farm, and, as a caring dad, secure the future of his five children.

Benson's story

Hello, Kiva community!

Benson (a first-time Kiva borrower) lives in the Kitale area of Kenya, a town that was significantly stuck by the 2007–2008 Kenyan crisis when violence occurred in Kenya.

He always works hard to support his family. The living conditions in the Kitale area are tough, because there is neither clean water nor electricity. Benson’s primary sources of income have been milk, and horticultural produce. His biggest challenges are disease and a shortage of farm inputs.

Farmers in the area lack capital to purchase farm inputs such as chemicals to prevent diseases, and this is why he is seeking a loan to buy farm inputs.

Benson made the decision to join Juhudi Kilimo in order to access loans that will help him improve his farming activities.

The additional income from the improved productivity will go to Benson’s children’s education. With the profits from your loan, Benson’s children will acquire a quality education that will act as a strong foundation for a bright future. Benson fully repaid his previous loan.
