Anna's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to start her own agro vet shop and break up the monopoly in her village, and as a single mother of four kids, support her children.

Anna's story

Anna is a single mother of four children, who chose to get out of her comfort zone in order to make ends meet for her family. She is a very hardworking mother, who will do anything to make her family happy. She is from Kakamega, a town where the main economic activities include agricultural processing, particularly in horticulture and sugarcane.

Anna has been a farmer for more than ten years and she is making great strides and tremendous progress. Although she earns handsome profits from farming, she faces one big challenge - the high price of fertilizers, seedlings, and other farming inputs. This is a result of the monopoly that is enjoyed by the only agro vet shop in her area. Anna is requesting a loan to start her own agro vet shop. Her remote area has only one agro dealer who caters to many smallholder farmers that solely depend on her for agricultural inputs. This agro dealer has been making a big profit from farmers by charging them extra, since she enjoys a monopoly.

Anna wants to change this and seize the business opportunity. With your loan, she will start an agro vet shop and tap into the potential agricultural market. Anna will also help the smallholder farmers in her area who have, for a long time, been having serious problems accessing affordable farm inputs.
