Cecile's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to pay for 5 bales of thread for weaving and to save money to ensure her family's well-being.

Cecile's story

Cecile is a married woman, 41 years old, who has four children, all in school. A weaver for fifteen years, she weaves quality traditional 'pagnes' [the colorful cloth of western Africa] in her home located in the suburbs of the capital.

Now on her 4th loan cycle with the microfinance institution YIKRI, she paid back her 1st KIVA loan without a problem. She is asking for a new loan to purchase 5 bales of thread for producing traditional ‘pagne’ cloth to meet customer demands. Her plans include using the earnings to reinvest in her business and to save money to ensure her family’s well-being. So, she thanks YIKRI and its partners for supporting unbanked entrepreneurs. With YIKRI loan, she is taking good care of her family.
