Margaret's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase a high-yielding dairy cow and milk cans to grow her milk-vending business and to make her dream of future success a reality.

Margaret's story

Meet this lovely mum, Margaret, who is a mother of three children. She is an agricultural producer, who resides in a humble village in Thika.

Margaret is very determined to transform her dream of becoming a successful farmer into reality. In her village, poverty is very common among residents, especially those who still look into getting a white collar job. Margaret is very hardworking, despite the many responsibilities that await her. She has been practicing farming, on a small inherited piece of land, for many years. She is also a good poultry farmer.

From Kiva lenders, she is borrowing KES 70,000 to purchase another high-yielding dairy cow and milk cans to grow her milk-vending business. This cow will boost milk production on the farm. As a result, she will have more milk for both consumption and sales. With the money from the additional sales, she will be able to service her loan on time. With the increased income from the loan, Margaret plans to settle the high cost of farming production. In the long run, her family will improve their standard of living.
