Agatha's Group

Iringa, Iringa Region, Tanzania / Agriculture

Agatha's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for the cultivation of maize.

Agatha's Group's story

This season is not the first one that Agatha has worked alongside One Acre Fund. She has been a member for a few years now, having joined the program in 2012 and, although she is the only person featured in the above picture, she is actually representing her group of 9 farmers in Iringa District, Tanzania.

Agatha is often described by her community as a very hardworking individual and decided to be the one to represent her group because she likes being a leader. Like many of her fellow farmers, Agatha decided she wanted to be part of the One Acre Fund community in order to have access to quality training and acquire new farming methods and hopes to use the profits from this year’s harvest to buy more land to cultivate in.

This loan will not only help Agatha but the whole group, who will receive maize seeds and fertilizer to plant a total of 7.5 acres of land.
