Marie Madeleine's story

Marie Madeleine is a married woman and the mother of four children including two who attend school. She has been running a restaurant in one of the city's neighbourhood's for over eleven years. Her business is going well, but her supply is insufficient and does not allow her to flourish in her business endeavors.

She is on her fifth loan cycle with the microfinance institution Yikri. She repays her loans and repaid her first Kiva loan without difficulty. She is seeking another loan to buy 15 bags of rice, 5 bags of peanut seeds and 1 load of wood to meet customer demand.

She plans to use the profits to build her business and to save up to pay for her children's school fees. She is grateful to Yikri and its partners for the support they provide to unbankable entrepreneurs. Thanks to Yikri loans, she is able to save money to pay her children's school fees.
