La Familia #2 Group's story

Yanira is a young woman who lives in the province of San Pedro de Macorís in Dominican Republic. This province is known for having the largest amount of sugar refineries in the country, but it also has impoverished areas such as the bateyes, where people live in extreme poverty, mostly Haitian immigrants.

For the past 2 years, Yanira has worked selling clothing such as dresses, shirts, jeans, skirts and others. This business allows Yanira to generate incomes and support her family.

Yanira was able to finish secondary school, but due to the lack of financial resources she couldn’t attain a college degree. However, this didn’t stop her from working and helping her family.

Yanira’s dreams are to one day have a house of her own, and have a prosperous and bigger business selling clothing.

Yanira needs your help to buy new merchandise and stock her business.

Thank you for helping the group La Familia #2.
