Mele's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy pandanus for her weaving and also to hire women to help with the business.

Mele's story

Meet this 53-year-old mother named Mele. She is a wife to a farmer, and a mother to eight children. They live at their own home. She is running a business of weaving, and she is self-employed. She conducts her weaving at her home almost every day. She weaves taovala (mat worn at the waist) and mats with brown pandanus only. When her products are ready, she sells them to random people and also to families overseas. Mele takes up to a week and a half to finish one taovala. She is hoping to use her loan money to buy pandanus and also hire women to help with her weaving. Her vision for the future is to build a better house for her family, through the help of her business.
