Maria's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase a solar freezing system that will help her improve her grocery store's revenues.

Maria's story

Maria lives in a community in Atlántida department, Honduras. She is 57 years old, and, for some years now, she has been working in agriculture and livestock with her husband.

Maria is a very enterprising woman, which is why she has put her own effort into running a small business selling food and other general consumer goods. In order to expand her business, Maria has begun selling dairy products, meats, soft drinks, ice and other products that need refrigeration. However, something is hindering her: In the area where Maria and her family live, there is no access to electricity. This means she has to store these products in coolers to refrigerate them, which costs her a lot because she has to buy ice every day, which takes away from her earnings.

It is for this reason that Maria is requesting this loan from Soluz Honduras to obtain a solar freezer system. It will help her to better serve her customers and, above all, means she will no longer lose money on the purchase of ice and will not have to travel long distances to obtain it. This, in turn, will help Maria’s business to increase her earnings, and her customers will be satisfied.
