Parna's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support
A loan helped to restore high-traffic products in order to generate revenue and revitalize the business.
I am a single mom originally from Kolkata, India who has been living in California for the last 11 years. I single-handedly run my business after divorcing my husband, who had previously owned the business. My ex-husband put the business in a disadvantaged situation, ordering a large amount of unpopular stock that has not sold well and pulling out his capital, leaving me with an underfinanced business. Through a 4-year divorce battle, I was left with no family support nor enough finances to provide a roof over my and my then 2-year-old daughter. Through child support and court orders, I was able to support basic needs for my daughter. In May 2019, I received a family court order granting me and my daughter co-ownership of Indus Organics. However, my husband had removed his invested capital, and I was left with an unfinanced business. I took the initiative of salvaging the company by enrolling in Community College and taking Small-Business Management Classes. I am a self-made woman who recovered the business losses and is now breaking-even. I continue to learn in order to refurbish the business in hopes of creating a better future for my 6-year-old daughter.
