A loan helped to buy a refrigerator, flour, and canned goods for her general store.

Janet's story

Janet is a 49-year-old widow with three children. She and her family live in a community in Honiara, the capital of the Solomon Islands.

Janet owns and operates a small general store where she sells food products such as rice, noodles, canned goods, flour, and cold drinks in her community so that she can earn a living. She has been in this business for three years.

Janet requested a loan to buy a refrigerator, flour, and canned goods so that she can continue running her store. She plans to use her profits to cover her family’s weekly expenses and to improve her business.

Janet joined SPBD in 2019 in order to gain access to financial services for her business.
