Catherine's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to expand her business by purchasing more stock of kitchenware to sell.

Catherine's story

Catherine is a 36-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her husband and three children in Nchelenge District in Zambia. She sells kitchenware. She received and successfully paid one previous Kiva loan. With this first Kiva loan, she purchased more stock, to subsequently increase her sales. She used the profit she earned to expand her business capital.

Now she is requesting a second loan to expand her business by purchasing more stock. She plans to use the profit she earns to expand her business and to support her family.

Catherine will repay the ‘social interest’ on her second loan by volunteering three hours per week as a CAMFED Business Mentor, leading sessions to teach less experienced local women how to become successful entrepreneurs by developing their business acumen and sharing the lessons she learned from operating her business.
