Annah's story

Meet Annah: a hardworking mother from Nkubu, a town where the main economic activities include agricultural processing, particularly in horticulture and bananas. She is an expert farmer with 10 years of experience in animal production. Annah has four children under her care. She is an experienced farmer who loves her job and works every hour of the day to meet the basic needs of her small family.

For the past 10 years, she has been involved in mixed farming, and her main source of income has been keeping pigs and growing maize, vegetables, and tomatoes. She also keeps dairy cows and has a side business. She has been able to provide nutritious food for her family. Annah is from a remote village that has poor feeder roads, and transporting her produce to market has been a challenge, which is why she has suffered so many losses. Perishable products such as milk, vegetables, and tomatoes require timely delivery to the market to fetch a high price.

Although she has made profits selling a variety of food crops, Annah is faced with the challenge of timely delivery of her produce to the market. This challenge has not made her give up. She is requesting a loan from Juhudi Kilimo via Kiva lenders to buy a motorbike. The benefits of this loan are many because Annah will never suffer losses due to delay in the delivery of produce to the market. Make a loan now and be a part of Annah's dreams.
