Marthaline's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more pepper, palm oil, Vita, and other food items to sell.

Marthaline's story

Meet Marthaline, who is 24 years old. She is married and has two children. One of her children is presently in school and both live at home. Marthaline attended school until 9th grade. She has a business selling pepper, palm oil, Vita, and other food items. It is a business that she has managed for six years and she describes herself as a strong business woman.

She learned how to sell from her mother, and her husband gave her money to start the business. She has no problems with her sales. She sells Monday through Saturday. She has asked for a loan through Kiva's field partner, BRAC Liberia. She plans to use the loan to buy more pepper, palm oil, Vita, and other food items to sell to her regular customers. She likes her business because sales are fast and she is proud of her business because it has empowered her life. In the future, Marthaline wants to build her house. She says thanks to BRAC and the Kiva community.
