Rana's story

The original vision of House Kombucha was to be zero-waste in re-usable kegs for catered events and food service. For the first 4 years of business House Kombucha washed and re-used bottles but it was not sustainable at the store/distributor level. After spending 10 years pushing kombucha as a consumer-packaged good in grocery stores, I decided it was time for my personal carbon offset. I know we can change the nightmare that is single use packaging and create a whole new food system. The key piece to making this difference to building the model store that is designed to be zero waste as a matter of principle.
