Samaria Group's story

Dionisio, who is 43 years old, is the coordinator of Grupo Samaria. He is married and has 2 children who are 23 and 18 years old. As coordinator of Grupo Samaria, Dionisio has made a living by selling clothes, household appliances, shoes, kitchen utensils, and fans for 14 years. His daughter helps him with his business.

One of his difficulties is that his business is a little static and he has faced serious health problems. Nonetheless, his desire to get ahead is still strong; his goal is to make his business grow, and improve his home and lifestyle. He is asking the loan-giving institution, Kiva, for a loan to buy a fan and plastic chairs. He has 2 business partners: Fatima, who is 37 years old, makes a living by making hammocks, pig butchering, and making and selling nacatamales. Jennifer, who is 24 years old, makes a living by making hammocks and by selling cosmetics.
