Martha Cecilia's story

Martha Cecilia is a 45-year-old micro entrepreneur who lives in the town of Soledad with her husband and children. She started her photo studio business approximately 15 years ago.

Her husband first opened a store where he offered his services in design, publicity, and framing, with a photo studio, albums and filming. Martha is his collaborator, and tends to the business while her husband is away due to a work opportunity he received. Martha took charge of the business and learned the job there. She's now perfected it and has obtained very good results and profits.

Martha is always at the vanguard of new trends in publicity. For that reason she is innovating her machinery and tools to do her job better. Her primary customers are clients, friends, neighbors, family, passers-by, and photographers in the area.

At this time Martha is seeking her first Kiva loan through the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. She plans to to invest the resources in the purchase of Kodak paper, Canon ink, photography ink, frames, dust covers, lamps, publicity, photo albums, etc. Martha needs an injection of capital to increase her inventory of supplies and products. This will allow her to attract more customers and improve her profitability.
