Catherine's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy another high-quality dairy cow for increased milk production and sales.

Catherine's story

Catherine is a 48-year-old mother of one. She does not let anything come in between her and her big dreams of self-accomplishment. She is very hard-working, and despite her poor financial status, has become one of the most proficient women in agriculture in her village.

This amiable lady dreams of establishing herself as an independent and resourceful woman. She believes this is possible through farming. Today, Catherine owns dairy cows and a small farm where she practices crop farming.

Catherine enjoyed the support of her parents when she started, but now works independently and makes her own decisions. She says that she was able to make a profit from her milk and crops in the previous season and has even better hopes for this one.

She is seeking a loan to buy a dairy cow of good breeding to increase her milk production. She intends to feed the cow with fodder from her farm, buy another cow in the future to breed, and create a big herd. This is a wise idea, as demand for milk from dairy cows and for meat is rising in the Chuka region, where she lives.

Lending to this smallholder farmer provides an opportunity for her to expand her farming and inspire more women of her age. Her family will also benefit from this loan.
