Jackline's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to purchase quality breeds of poultry to meet the demand for eggs and poultry products in her area.

Jackline's story

Jackline, a 36-year-old mom of 3, is a Kiva borrower who has perfect credit standing. She is a rural farmer from a remote village in the Kitui area of Kenya. She resides with her husband and family. She has been actively involved in farming for the last few years and has never regretted it or looked back.

Jackline practices mixed farming and sells milk from her cow, eggs from her poultry, and various food crops at the local market. She passionately loves poultry farming, but the biggest challenge she faces is a lack of capital to buy more quality breeds of poultry that are resistant to disease and lay more eggs.

Jackline is on her knees kindly and humbly seeking a loan to purchase additional poultry. She will use her excess maize to feed the poultry and will provide sorghum to give the poultry energy and greens for protein. Through better feeding, the poultry will increase their egg production and lay more eggs that are of good quality, which will translate to more income.

Jackline was inspired by the efforts of Juhudi Kilimo in alleviating rural poverty through financing enterprising women like her and she has appealed for a loan. Jackline has also learned that Kiva lenders are able and willing to support her by lending in a move to elevate her standard of living. This loan will have a lasting impact in her life and that of her family.

Kindly consider this mom with a great credit history!
