Tabitha's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to pay for a posho mill (grain mill) that she will use to process corn grain and sell it as a finished product.

Tabitha's story

Tabitha (pictured inside her house) is a single mother of three children who really wants to see her family progressing. That is why she is full of enthusiasm and energy when working tirelessly in her mixed farm. She started farming 10 years ago in Thika, Kenya, a town where the main economic activities include agricultural processing, particularly in horticulture and pineapple. She has always aspired to introduce more value to make her clients happier and make the farm more profitable. The activities she has been running have been generating just enough income to cover her monthly business expenses and basic necessities of the home.

She is counting on the support of Kiva lenders to access a loan that will enable her to pay for a posho mill (grain mill). With this loan, she will be able to process maize grain and sell it as a finished product. Ugali is a staple food in Kenya, made from maize flour. The posho mill will also generate income from other families looking to grind maize grains they have harvested.

Tabitha is very motivated with this big project because it is the tipping point for her family. Triumph in efforts to elevate their livelihood will make her feel much more than pride.
