Askah's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to gain access to cost-efficient hybrid seeds and fertilizer for crop cultivation for this woman with a good credit history.

Askah's story

Askah (39-year-old mom of two children), who is photographed above, is not deterred by the difficulties she encounters in life. Despite the challenges she faces, her courage to continue providing for her family is what amazes the other residents of Molo, the town where she is from. She is a farmer who raises dairy animals and grows crops. This has been her only business for the past few years.

In the modern world, agriculture has become exceedingly dynamic. Upgrading the type of inputs being used today is a necessity in the agricultural sector. There is a need to use improved farming inputs to have effective production. These inputs include high quality seeds, fertilizer, pesticides, and herbicides.

Askah requested a loan from Juhudi Kilimo for 20,000 KES to buy farm inputs such as fertilizer to enable her to grow more crops, reap maximum profits, and increase her crop farming business.

Being a woman and accessing funds in Kenya, especially around Molo, is very challenging. However, she is relieved to know there are institutions such as Kiva that help enterprising women like her.

Askah is very thankful for this support and the impact this loan is going to make on her family's well-being.
