01_Sokhna Group's story
This Banc Villageois has been active in the district since 2013. It is made up of seven women who come from the same village. They get on well together as relations and neighbours and they help each other. Their main activity is commerce. They have repaid over 10 loans without any difficulty. Mrs. Siga is the leader, she is 35. She is standing on the left in the photo with her hand raised. She is married with three children: a boy of 16 and two girls of eight and two. Mrs. Siga sells textiles, shoes and various merchandise. She buys her stock wholesale in the capital and resells retail at the market or in local hotels. She has a considerable experience of over 10 years in this field. With her loan she plans to buy 100 units of artistic fabric of 12 yards each, and 20 pairs of shoes that she will resell hoping for a good profit. She is doing well because she is the only person to run a commerce of this sort at the hotel where she works. With her profits, she makes savings with the Banc Villageois and helps her husband with the family expenditure especially healthcare and school fees.
