David's story

Smoky Sweet Soul is a labor of love. The idea was born once I realized that people really enjoyed the items I would bring to potlucks, family gatherings and holiday parties. I made a decision that my food creations were good enough to take to the marketplace. I learned a great deal about cooking from two very special people in my life, my mother Sharon L. Munford and my maternal grandmother Mary E. Foster. We spent countless hours in the kitchen as I watched them work their magic over the years, creating dishes that if I think hard enough about, I can taste and smell them. I learned so much about my Mom and Grammy, my family history and so much more during these times. In a short span of a couple months, both of these special ladies passed away. For me, cooking is a form of therapy. It is a way that I can reminisce on those special times, clear my head and deal with the grief.
