02_Doumassou Plateau Kd Group's story
Josephe, standing on the right side of the picture with her hand raised, is the representative of the group. She is fifty six years old, a widow and the mother of seven children, including two boys.
With the money from the loan, she will buy bags of millet, cans of palm oil, bags of monkey bread [fruits of the baobab] and cans of lemon juice to sell. She buys her supplies in neighboring villages or at weekly markets and resells retail in the capital city where she gets support from her children who live there. She also raises chickens which she later resells. She has loyal customers and can rely on a few years of experience in this field.
With the profits [from her business], she will strengthen her savings and provide for her family by covering her children's school fees, as well as food, clothing and health related expenses. She was able to buy and stock tonnes of cement and she is planning to build a house.
