Siongiroi, Bomet County, Kenya / Agriculture

Wiliter's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to purchase farming inputs, such as high-nutrient fertilizer and certified seed, to improve her farm yields so she can make more profits to support her children.

Wiliter's story

Wiliter is a lively and energetic mother of four children living in Siongiroi, a town that hosts a number of elite athletes in Kenya. Her spirit has led her to be a successful farmer, practicing dairy farming and crop production. She lives happily with her husband and children. Three of her four children are attending school.

The biggest problem that farmers from Siongiroi face is the huge deficit in terms of access to agricultural inputs. This means these farmers' yields and incomes are far below what they could be. Juhudi Kilimo partnered with Kiva to provide financial services to smallholders around Kenya. Through these financial services, farmers from Siongiroi like Wiliter can now buy productive assets and important agricultural inputs for use on their farms.

Wiliter is seeking a loan to buy farm inputs such as fertilizer, herbicides, and pesticides. Your loan will enable her to improve her production through the use of quality farm inputs.

This intervention will help her fulfill the increasing demand for food in the market, generate more income to repay the loan debt, and improve the quality of life for her family.

Helping Wiliter through lending will help lift her family from the chains of poverty!
