A loan helped to buy a cow to produce more milk, so as to increase her income to help her husband with the household expenses.

Mariam's story

Mariam is 37 and is married. Her husband works in another governorate (Cairo), and she is a mother to four children.

She has a small cattle fattening business that she started in a room in her house. She helps her husband with the income for the family. She asked for a loan before and was very successful.

She fattens cattle and milks cows and then sells the dairy products in local markets in addition to on foot as a street vendor. She decided to ask for a loan to buy a cow to produce more milk, so as to increase her income to help her husband with the household expenses.

She will also use the profit in her daughter's marriage. She hopes that her husband will return back home so all the family lives together.
