Emma's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy groceries for her canteen and hire someone to help her.

Emma's story

Meet Emma, a 59-year-old single mother of six grown-up children. She lives at her own home on the island of Vava'u.

Emma's business is a canteen where she makes light food and drinks and sells them at the primary school. In her canteen she makes samosas, rots, sandwiches, hot dogs and drinks. Emma runs her canteen every school day. When there is a school holiday, she delivers her canteen to some of the small retail stores. She is enjoying doing her business, but she is not getting any younger. That is why she is applying for a loan to buy groceries for her business and to hire someone to help her.

Emma is very dedicated to her business. Even though her children are working, she still wants to make her own money while she still can. Her vision is to continue on working with SPBD financing her business. One day, she will be able to turn her little canteen business into a professional catering business.
