A loan helped to buy a large freezer and four piles of bags, so she can save money to improve her family's living conditions.

Minata's story

Minata is a talented 45-year-old woman, who has experience in selling scoops of ice-cream. She has five children, aged between ten and 22 years old, and they all go to school.

She is a trader and has been making ice-creams in her yard in a district of the capital for the past 15 years. She is on her seventh loan cycle with IMF Yikri and she reimbursed her second Kiva loan without any problems. She is requesting a new loan to buy a large freezer and four piles of plastic bags so she can increase her production of ice-cream and resell it to customers during this hot period, making her shop a place of reference for selling ice-cream.

She is planning to used the profit to reinvest in her restaurant and to save so that she can improve her family's living conditions. Finally , she thanks Yikri and its partners for the support they provide to entrepreneurs who cannot access bank funding. Thanks to the loans from Yikri she is managing to improve her family's living conditions.
