Kale's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy pandanus and weaving materials for her weaving business and also to buy fuel for fishing.

Kale's story

This is Kale. She is 60 years old. Her husband is a farmer and also a fisherman, and they have seven grown up children and nine grandchildren. Kale runs two businesses, which are weaving and fishing. For her weaving business, she is joined by two women, and they conduct the weaving at her house. They weave almost every day, and when her products are finished, Kale sells it at the local market and also overseas. For the fishing business, her husband goes fishing, and Kale will do the selling of the fish, both in the market place and also from their own home.

These two businesses have been the main source of income for her family for decades. She is hoping to use her loan money to buy pandanus for her weaving and also to buy fuel for their boat, in order for her husband to go fishing. Not only do they earn money from fishing, but it is also a source of food for the family.
