Santo Domingo Group's story

Ariana is a very enterprising and hardworking young woman, 28 years old, single mother of two children, merchant; who opened up a small grocery store four years ago. She started making and selling bread, visiting the nearby communities where she lives; she was able to save part of her profits and set up the grocery store where she sells staple foodstuffs. Also, on weekends she makes fried pork and sells it in her community.

Ariana is part of the solidarity group "Santo Domingo" together with Meylin who makes and sells bread and Fatima who besides making and selling bread also makes tamales and ground coffee for sale.

She asked a loan from FUNDENUSE to strengthen the grocery store by increasing the inventory and also to buy raw materials to make bread and fried pork. She aims to comply with the terms of the loan and pay on time, with the purpose of always having available a line of credit. Her future goal is to own a chicken farm and improve the oven where she bakes the bread. But her main goal is for her children to study to have a professional degree.
