Mary's story

Mary is 38 years old, married, and has three children. She and her family live in a community in Honiara, the capital of the Solomon Islands.

Mary runs a small general store where she sells food items such as rice, noodles, biscuits, and sugar to her community so that she can earn a living. She has been in this business for five years.

Mary requested a loan to buy rice, canned goods, sugar, noodles, cooking oil, and other mixed goods so that she can increase her inventory and continue running her business. She plans to use her profits to cover her family’s weekly expenses and improve her business.

Mary joined SPBD in 2012.
