Tulcán, Carchi Province, Ecuador / Services

Emma Irene's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy a cover-stitch machine for her sewing workshop.

Emma Irene's story

Emma is a member who lives with her family in the city of Tulcán, which is in Carchi Province. She is the breadwinner in her household since her husband is currently unemployed because of his age. Emma has also not been able to find work because she is an older adult. They have nine children, two of whom live with them. The other children have emigrated so that they can find opportunities to get ahead.

In order to sustain her family, Emma developed various business activities, such as cleaning houses and sewing. She also has a stall at the market where she offers mending services and sews clothes to order. Emma is an enterprising and determined person despite her age.

The loan she is requesting will be used to buy a cover-stitch machine so that she can offer better sewing services. She is very grateful for the assistance from the lenders.
