A loan helped to purchase fabrics and vegetables to resell.

Th_Maguette Group's story

This [Banc Villageois] was established in May 2009. It is comprised of these seven women who live in the same village and are connected by family, friendship or solidarity ties. They have successfully reimbursed several loans. Their primary business is trade.

Mrs. Maïmouna, 48 years old, is the representative. She is on the right side, with her arm raised. She is married and is the mother of seven children, including one daughter. Three of her boys go to school.

Mrs. Maïmouna runs a business selling fabrics and vegetables. She obtains her supplies from truck farmers and suppliers. Her business is growing in the market and her neighborhood. She has over 10 years of good experience in this field.

Thanks to this loan, she plans on purchasing bags of vegetables (cabbage, carrots, peppers, turnips...) and large quantities of various types of fabrics; she will resell them at a profit. She is always aiming to sell high quality products in order to satisfy her customers and increase their loyalty. Her profits will allow her to grow her savings, to contribute to the local savings funds [tontines] and meet the needs of her children.
