A loan helped to buy fabric to make clothes and sell them.

Bykh_Tamou Group's story

This group includes 3 women belonging to the banc villageois set in this zone in February 2001. They live in the same village and are either relatives or friends who have neighborly relationships. Their main activity is trade. They received several loans that they paid back on time.

Madame Mbéne, who is 53, is the representative for this group. She is the person on the right of the photo with her hand raised. She is married and has 8 children who all go to school; 3 of them are boys. She is a seamstress.

Madam Mbéne’s makes and sells clothes. She buys her fabric and notions wholesale and sews boubou dresses that she sells in her workshop. She has more than 30 years of experience.

With this loan, she will buy bolts of various fabric, sewing trim, threads, and more to make clothes for women and men that she will sell with a good margin. She easily sells her products cash or on credit. Her profits will allow her, among other things, to save money, to pay small expenses, and to pay for her children’s schooling.
