A loan helped to stock up on 20 sacks of beans in gross to build up her initial capital.

Ubuzima Group's story

Francoise is a customer of the Hekima microfinance institution and the president of the Ubuzima solidarity group. She is 39 years old, married, and the mother of 14 children, all of whom go to school. Her spouse is a humanitarian worker.

She sells beans in her store. She began this business in 1991 with startup capital received from her husband. Later she joined the Hekima loan program to support her business. With this new loan, she will stock up on 20 sacks of beans in gross to build up her initial capital. The challenge of her business is linked to the poor state of roads in the agricultural deserts.

She hopes to educate her children and feed her family. Finally, she thanks Hekima and its partners for the support brought to unbanked entrepreneurs.
