Albertha's story

Albertha is a 29-year-old woman from Liberia. She is a single mother of a three-year-old child who lives at home and attends preschool. Albertha completed school through the 12th grade. She manages a business of selling water and juices. Albertha has been in this business for the past six years. She works Monday through Saturday from 6:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. Albertha has not had any problems with her business and describes herself as a hardworking businesswoman. She learned this trade from her mother and started her business with capital from her uncle.

Albertha is requesting this Kiva loan from BRAC Liberia to buy water and juices so that she can increase her business. She enjoys her business because it generates more profit for her. In the future, she would like to manage an international business. She expresses her thanks and appreciation to BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.
