Juliet's Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to purchase more baking flour, cooking oil, and a sack of Irish potatoes.

Juliet's Group's story

Juliet's group is comprised of two hardworking women. Juliet is 23 years old and lives in the town of Abaita Ababiri in the Abaita Ababiri region of Uganda. She has one child. For the past two years, Juliet has been working hard to manage her catering business, which sells fast foods.

To help expand her business, Juliet has requested of a share a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more baking flour, cooking oil, a sack of Irish potatoes, and other missing items to support the business. This will help Juliet to generate greater profits and improve her family's standard of living by providing them with enough basic needs. Juliet hopes that in the future she will be able to start up rental houses.

Juliet is a member of BRAC's Empowerment and Livelihood for Adolescents (ELA) program. In addition to microfinance loans, the program provides both a safe place for young Ugandan women to take part in group activities and a forum for life-skills training.
