Puerto Naranjal Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to maintain her cocoa, coffee, and citrus fruits harvest. She wants to provide a better product to her customers and be recognized in her town.

Puerto Naranjal Group's story

Juana, who is 53 years old, has four children and is a single mother. Unfortunately, her husband passed away. Currently, Juana belongs to the communal bank "Puerto Naranjal" which is made up of 8 members. Juana leads and represents the group.

Juana started in agriculture more than 27 years ago by harvesting cocoa, coffee, and citrus fruits. She has always sought to enhance her harvest, and she is achieving this through technical assistance.

She is requesting a loan through Kiva because she wants to perform crop maintenance on the cocoa, coffee, and citrus fruits that she has harvested. Crop maintenance always entails cleaning, pruning, pest control, or composting.

In her free time, Juana works as a laborer or an extra hand on other plots of land where she earns extra income. Her greatest dream is to build her own little home and continue increasing her production so that she can augment her monthly income.

Juana considers herself to be a hardworking woman and an early-riser.
